Who is Avalanche Software?
Founded in 1995 and nestled in the heart of Salt Lake City, Utah, Avalanche has created more than 30 games across over 15 platforms. A passion-centered studio, Avalanche brings worlds and franchises to life in a “by fans, for fans” approach, becoming experts in our subject matter before delivering on the dreams and desires of potential players.
Over three decades, we’ve partnered with beloved franchises and major entertainment names. From the Mortal Kombat series to developing our own franchises with Tak and the Power of Juju, we’ve consistently demonstrated adaptability and innovation. These experiences laid the foundation for Avalanche.
During our tenure with Disney Interactive from 2005 to 2016, we transformed several cherished Disney properties into interactive adventures, culminating in the toys-to-life Disney Infinity series, which also brought beloved characters from Marvel and Star Wars to life in new and imaginative ways.
After joining the Warner Bros. Games family in 2017, we embarked on our most ambitious project yet. Released in 2023 and becoming a best-seller, Hogwarts Legacy represents a significant achievement for our studio, reflecting our commitment to passion, collaboration, and a fan-centric approach.
As we look ahead, we are excited to continue evolving, learning, and leveraging our rich history to deliver more compelling gaming experiences.
Why a Blog?
At Avalanche, we believe in transparency and connection. This blog serves as a window into our world, where we’ll pull back the curtain on our development journey.
While major announcements will continue to be unveiled through broader channels, we envisioned this as a space to share our unique insights and celebrate our studio culture in ways that might not otherwise see the spotlight.
